It’s no secret Ricky Wysocki is off to his best start as a professional. In his 2nd season being sponsored by Latitude 64, Wysocki really seems to have his game dialed in and have his discs under control. Previously being sponsored by Prodigy Discs, Wysocki was able to climb the ranks and challenge Paul McBeth at many tour stops including the 2014 World Championships where he lost in a sudden death playoff. After a tough 2015, Wysocki is firing on all cylinders in 2016.
Through nine events in 2016 Wysocki has won five of them. He has finished 2nd at three of them and has been outside the top 5 only once. This includes 2 NT wins already at the Kansas City Wide Open and the Steady Ed Master’s Cup.
*Top 5’s include only finishes that were not 1st or 2nd.
Year | Events | Wins | NT Wins | 2nd Place | Top 5’s * |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
2014 | 36 | 14 | 2 | 12 | 6 |
2015 | 24 | 5 | 0 | 7 | 3 |
2016 | 9 | 5 | 2 | 3 | 0 |
Using the table above the numbers show you that Wysocki is killing it this season. He has already matched his win total from 2015 and I’d expect to him to win several more tournaments this year. You can see the effort Wysocki has put into not only his game, but his on camera appearances and interviews. 2016 also saw the launch of a new website with merchandise to help Ricky tour. The new SockiBomb Compass from Latitude 64 and a new touring vehicle with a nice wrap also came out in 2016. All these things combine to give Ricky the best start to a season to date. The only question that remains is can he finally claim that Worlds or USDGC title? I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.
