Way Too Early 2015 Power Rankings

Yea, the 2014 season just died down a bit, but we thought we would share our Way Too early 2015 Power Rankings with you now. So here is our list for Professional Men and Women in the Open Division.McBethPierce-239x300

Open Men

  1. Paul McBeth – McBeast will stay at the top or near the top of the power rankings all of 2015. Coming off a 3rd World’s win in a row and a close 2nd at the 2014 USDGC alone can keep him up there. Not to mention all the A-Tiers, NT’s, and Majors he collected trophy’s for in 2014.
  2. Ricky Wysocki – Wysocki played well all year. Wins at the Japan Open, Texas State Championships, and others keep him at #2. Unfortunately for Ricky, he was #2 quite a bit in 2014. We think, in 2015 he can improve his win total.
  3. Will Schusterick – Will knows how to win the USDGC, especially in even years. Winner in 2010, 2012, and 2014, Schusterick closed out 2014 with a big win over Paul McBeth. Can he take that momentum into 2015? We think so.
  4. Nate Doss – Doss seemed to be in the hunt at every big tournament this year. He was on the lead card quite a bit, but struggled to get W’s. Being a 3 time World Champion, he gets the benefit of the doubt. We think his 2015 season will be improved now that he officially tied the knot to Valerie Jenkins and has the planning and stress of a wedding behind him.
  5. Dave Feldberg – Another former World Champ, Feldberg looks to improve from his 2014 season where notched 3 wins. An NT win at the Rochester Flying Discs Open boost him into our top 5.

Open Women

  1. Paige Pierce – Pierce is our top women’s player going into 2015. A 2nd place finish at Worlds, a Win in the Performance Flight at the USDGC, and a win at the Women’s USDGC propel her to our top spot. Look for Pierce to play well in 2015.
  2. Catrina Allen – 2014 World Champion, Allen killed it all year. She played a ton of tournaments, and won 24 out 34! That’s a 70% winning percentage. You can make the case for Allen to be #1 on the Power Rankings going into 2015. She is currently ranked #1 in the World.
  3. Valerie Jenkins – Jenkins lands 1 spot higher than her new husband, Nate Doss. Always in the running to win a tournament, Jenkings pulled off wins at 7 tournaments last year. Look for her to continue her great play into 2015.
  4. Ragna Bydge – Ragna won a handful of tournaments in 2014. She finished 3rd at the World Championships behind Allen and Pierce. She also notched a W at the Mixed Doubles World’s with Will Schusterick. She will be a factor in 2015.
  5. Hannah Leatherman – Leatherman won 11 of 15 tournaments she played in last year. She also finished 6th at Worlds. She rounds out our top 5.
