Pierce & Orum Make Charge During Round II of Memorial Championships

Round 2 Live Coverage featured the FPO lead card and Paige Pierce capitalized on the spotlight. Shooting a 49 (-7), Pierce charged into the lead carding 8 birdies to 1 bogey on the Fiesta Lakes course. Catrina Allen is only 1 stroke back after shooting a disappointing 54 (-2). Allen only carded 2 bogies the whole round but was unable to get birdies as often as Pierce. Zoe Andyke and Sarah Hokom will join them on the lead card for round 3 at Vista Del Camino Park. Both Andyke and Hokom are bucnhed with several players sitting at (+1) overall.

Smashboxx TV was on hand for Live coverage of the FPO lead card which lead to some insight into Paige Pierce’s bag. During the off season rumors swirled of her potential leave of Prodigy and Pierce was noted throughout the day throwing several Trilogy molds as well as missing her normally very present Prodigy logos. She did still have her trusty PA1 which she used quote often.

On the MPO side, Matt Orum shot the hot round carding a very solid 43 (-13). He is now tied for the lead with Paul McBeth who carded a 46 (-10). The Gentleman’s Club Challenge may have been a great warmup heading into The Memorial as both Matt Orum and Philo Brathwaite have found themselves on the lead card after Round 2. The lead card for Round 3 will be Orum, McBeth, Nate Sexton and Philo Brathwaite. Both Philo and Sexton outscored McBeth during Round 2.

Round 3 will definitely be moving day as 7 MPO players are within 2 strokes of the lead. The chase card includes Ricky Wysocki (-21), JohnE McCray (-21), Simon Lizotte (-21) and Zach Melton (-19).

Ken Climo is holding down a 3 stroke lead over George Smith in the Masters Division. Climo is sitting at (-17) overall.
