In the Mixed Bag – SSS Wizard

Average Disc Golf is starting a new blog series all about what is in our bag. Now, we are not brand loyal and we carry a very mixed bag. We don’t have every brand, but we have quite a few. If you’re a seasoned player this may not help you any, but if you are a bit new to the sport, we thought these blogs would give  you non biased information on many different discs from different manufacturers.

Our next entry is our putter of choice. The SSS Wizard by Gateway Disc Sports.

We have been putting with the Wizard for about 3 years switching from a Soft Challenger. We liked the Challenger, in fact, we still have those exact discs, but we were anxious to try something new. The Wizard has definitely claimed its spot in our bag. We started off putting with it and it was a bit of a change. The added bead was an adjustment, but we soon found that the bead fit naturally and was comfortable. After a bit of practice, we were confident. This disc has provided us with enough great results, we carry a firmer one for upshots. Our 2nd ever ace is with a SS Wizard on a short part 3. It will take something serious to break us of a Wizard. I can say, on days when I struggled with my putting, I thought about those Challengers… but have never struggled enough with the Wizard to actually grab them. This disc produces great results. Consider trying one sometime.
