Disc Golf Shoes – Which, Where, How Much?

So I wanted to investigate the several options that are, disc golf shoes. Being an internet person, I decided to scour online for what I felt was the best deal. For me. So, don’t call this  a guide or anything. Just what I did when I wanted a pair for myself, and average disc golfer like you. I started with the name I heard the most. Keen.

Keen

keen_delaveaga_mensKeen had 2 pairs they claimed were specifically for disc golf. The Delaveaga and the Nasu WP. Both looked good, were waterproof, and decently priced. The Dela goes for $99 and up, and the Nasu WP went for about $20 more.

I know several disc golf players who wear these two and most people have good things to say.

I moved on to another few brands. Next up, Saloman.

Salomon

salomanSalomon climbs a bit to a higher price point. The first shoe I found was the Men’s XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 GTX Trail Running Shoe. I t was also waterproof, and I liked how this one looked better. It was priced at $159.99. So, quite a bit more. My thoughts are; “You get what you pay for”. My question is, is it worth the extra $40-50? That’s a tournament entry for an Average Disc Golfer.

My search continued…

All the major brands offer some sort of waterproof sneaker, I wanted to search out options that are different.

 Saucony

20183-1_1_1200x735I literally searched “waterproof running shoe”. My first click was on the Saucony website, which was VERY easy to navigate. On a side note, Salomon’s was very difficult.

The Saucony Guide 6 GTX was the first of 4 options I looked at. I liked this style most of the 4. It had a gortex upper which I liked. Waterproof is a must if you haven’t noticed by now. These were priced at $90. I like the style and look of the Salomon above though. The $70 difference could sway me. The other shoes were all priced under $99. So check them out for yourselves also.

Brooks

BGGT6M1-1I next came across the Brooks Ghost 6 GTX. It was part of their Gortex series. They had two options for both men and women. Both featured Gortex uppers to provide waterproof support. This one had the better look style wise. These came in at $140. So a bit higher price. For the price and style, I couldn’t do it. Maybe they’re for you?

Of course these are only 4 pairs of the many available. These are the 4 that stuck out to me most. I would always recommend to do your own research and pick what is best for you.
